Christy Garfield
Membership Director

An Aspen native, Christy has been a long-time listener of Aspen Public Radio. She is thrilled to work for this local not-for-profit that she truly believes helps make our community a better place to live.

After graduating from Pepperdine University in 2004 with a degree in International Relations and Intercultural Communications, Christy traveled throughout the U.S. while working for a year as a leadership consultant. Since then she has spent time traveling to New Zealand, Australia, and Peru and living in Ecuador. In addition to traveling, she treasures hiking, skiing, and camping in Colorado's mountains. Her commitment to community building has led her to get involved as a volunteer tutor for English in Action and a participant in Roaring Fork Leadership's 2007-2008 program.

As life can have a cyclical way about it, Christy's current workplace at the Aspen Public Radio studios in the Red Brick Center for the Arts is in the very same space that housed her kindergarten class with teacher Patti Seifert 23 years ago. She still follows those critical lessons she learned in kindergarten, but wonders what happened to nap time.
