Challenge Aspen
Paralympic Alpine World Cup Finals
Challenge Aspen is seeking volunteers to help with the Paralympic Alpine World Cup Finals which will bring the top adaptive ski racers in the world to Buttermilk from February 28th through March 5th. Volunteers are needed both on and off the mountain, for any number of days. Contact lisah@challengeaspen.com or visit challengeaspen.org to download a volunteer form.

Aspen Community Social Dance
The Aspen Community Social Dance this month is on Saturday, February 20th at the Rio Grande Commons and features Western Dance. There is a Western Tripple Step lesson beginning at 7:30pm. Open dancing is from 8:30 until 10:30. $15 includes lesson, dancing and refreshments. No partner is required. More information is available at 925-8536.

Anderson Ranch Arts Center
Slide Lecture by Photographer David Hilliard
Anderson Ranch Arts Center will present a slide lecture by photographer David Hilliard on Tuesday, February 23 at 7 pm. Hilliard creates large-scale multi-paneled color photographs, often based on his life or the lives of people around him. The event is free and open to the public. Roaring Fork Conservancy
Naturalist Guided Snowshoe Walk
The Roaring Fork Conservancy is offering a naturalist guided snowshoe walk on Tuesday, February 23rd, from 5pm to 6:30 at the Emma Open Space. The area includes lush wetlands, snowy fields, and a critical migration corridor for deer and elk to move across the valley. Snowshoes are available to borrow. It's free and open to the public, but registration is required at RoaringFork.org or 927-1290.

Roaring Fork Conservancy
Naturalist Guided Snowshoe Walk
The Roaring Fork Conservancy is offering a naturalist guided snowshoe walk on Thursday, February 25th, from 10am to noon at James H. Smith Northstar Open Space east of Aspen to explore the critical river and wetland habitat. Snowshoes are available to borrow. It's free and open to the public, but registration is required at RoaringFork.org or 927-1290.

Willits Winter Market
The "Willits Winter Market", featuring local vendors offering food, beverages, art, holiday gifts and more, is now open every Saturday through February 27th from 11am to 5pm. The market is located indoors at Willits Town Center. More information is available at (970) 277-1100.

Colorado Avalanche Information Center
Benefit and Social Hour
The Aspen chapter of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center is hosting its 5th annual benefit and social hour at Phat Thai restaurant in Carbondale, Sunday February 28th at 6pm. There will be a silent auction, family style Thai dinner and free beer for $35 per person. For more information call 963-7001.

Mountain Family Health Center
Saturday Clinic
Mountain Family Health Center has extended its schedule to include Saturdays. The Saturday Clinic will be open from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm on a walk-in basis and will offer a reliable, low-cost alternative to visiting hospital Emergency Departments for minor injuries and infections, and non life-threatening illnesses like coughs, colds and flu. It's located at 1905 Blake Avenue, Suite 101, in Glenwood, across from Valley View Hospital.

Pitkin County Health and Human Services
Employment-Related Support
Hands-on employment-related support is available for the unemployed or underemployed in Pitkin County through Colorado Workforce: on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at Pitkin County Health and Human Services and on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at Aspen's Colorado Mountain College between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm. Youth Zone
Parenting Classes
Youth Zone is offering several parenting classes this winter from Aspen to Parachute on topics including Parenting through Divorce, Developing Capable Young People, Redirecting Children's Behavior, and Love and Logic Parenting. United Jewish Appeal, Aspen Valley
"Jewish Transit Documentary: From Hell to Hope"
The new documentary "Jewish Transit Documentary: From Hell to Hope" will have its U.S. Premiere on Wednesday, March 10th at the Doerr Hosier Center at The Aspen Institute as a fund raising event for United Jewish Appeal, Aspen Valley. The film tells the story of the Jewish displaced persons camps in Berlin after World War II and the defeat of the Nazis. For reservations, please call 704-1827.

Wyly Community Art Center
Life Drawing Studio Sessions
The Wyly Community Art Center is offering life drawing studio sessions with artist and instructor Liz Frazier every Wednesday evening from 6 to 8:00 from February 17 through March 17. The classes will teach students of all ages and skill levels to study and draw the human figure from a nude model. Mountain Rescue of Aspen
Beacon Training Seminars
Mountain Rescue of Aspen will be leading free beacon training seminars on the fourth Tuesday of each month through March at 6pm in Rio Grande Park. Participants should come dressed for the weather. Beacons will be available to borrow. More information is available at mountainrescueaspen.org.
