Sponsorships
Aspen Public Radio has long depended on the kindness of its listeners and underwriters to provide the station with a significant portion of its operating expenses. At the same time, the station recognizes that it has the means to give back to the community by sharing its most valuable resource – air time – with other area non-profit organizations.

Aspen Public Radio donates $5,000 every month in on-air underwriting to an organization that might otherwise have a difficult time affording traditional methods of spreading the word about their missions and events. If you're interested in having your non-profit organization sponsored on Aspen Public Radio, please contact our director of development and corporate support, Debbie Welden.

February 2012 Sponsorship

Wildize Foundation
WildiZe Foundation is a Colorado registered organization dedicated to education and awareness toward sustainable conservation. They work directly with communities and projects in Africa, to understand from their perspective the inherent challenges that exist, and to support them in creating their own successful solutions with respect toward gender, lifestyle, resources, habitat and wildlife.

John Noonan Memorial Scholarship
In recognition of the remarkable support the station has received from the community for more than 20 years, Aspen Public Radio has established a scholarship for a graduating senior who plans to study broadcast journalism and/or communications in college. Each spring the scholarship is available to students graduating from any high school within APR's local listening area.

The scholarship was named in memory of John Noonan, a dedicated and loyal member of the Aspen Public Radio staff for more than 15 years, in appreciation for his contribution to local public media. On his long-running show Aspen Media Review, John covered community issues, events, and in particular, the arts. For more information on applying for or contributing to the scholarship, please contact Membership Director Collins Kelly.

Past recipients: Olivia Fanizza (Aspen High School, 2008); Rachel Hennefeld (Basalt High School, 2008); Whitney Hubbell (Aspen High School, 2009); Mamie Brown (Aspen High School, 2010); Chuck Bergren-Aragon (Glenwood Springs High School, 2011)
