Adventurer and author Erik Weihenmayer to speak in Glenwood Springs

Colorado Mountain College

Erik Weihenmayer is an author and an athlete, and is also blind. He speaks Friday at 7 p.m. at Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs.

Weihenmayer is the first blind person to summit Mt. Everest, and has also kayaked nearly 300 miles of the Colorado River, through the Grand Canyon on his own.

His talk on Friday will feature his book, “No Barriers: A Blind Man’s Journey to Kayak the Grand Canyon,” which he co-authored with travel writer Budd Levy.

This is the last of several presentations he’s given at different Colorado Mountain College campuses over the past week.
