Aspen Art Museum Launches Fellowship For Local Artists

Aspen Art Museum

Thursday is the last day for local artists to apply for a new fellowship at the Aspen Art Museum.

The Aspen Art Museum features national and international artists; however, they’re turning their eyes toward local talent for a new fellowship.

Any artist working within a 100-mile radius of the museum can apply and up to four will be chosen. Over the course of the nine-month program, they will meet with visiting artists and curators and be mentored by museum staff as they work on their own projects.

Teresa Booth Brown, the artist program coordinator at the museum, said the fellowship is being launched in order to strengthen ties with the local art community.  She said the program will recognize and support career artists who want to take their art to a new level, and will encourage collaboration among the fellows.

The application can be found on the Aspen Art Museum’s website.
