Aspen Filmfest: Trauma and Resilience In '3 Days 2 Nights'

3days2nightsmovie.com

Almost 45 years ago, a small plane carrying a family to Aspen crashed outside of Glenwood. Mark and Andy Godfrey, 11 and 8-years-old at the time, were the only survivors. They were stranded for three days and two nights in the frigid mountains.  After their rescue, they rarely discussed the crash.

John Breen, a childhood friend of the Godfrey brothers, approached them a few years ago about making a documentary about their experience. That film, “3 Days 2 Nights,” is on the lineup of this year’s Aspen Filmfest.

Arts and culture reporter Christin Kay spoke with Breen, and Mark and Andy Godfrey, about making the film and its message of resilience.

“3 Days 2 Nights” will be screened Saturday at the Crystal Theatre in Carbondale.
