Aspen Words raises literary profile, announces 2018 Summer Words lineup

Denise Bosco

Aspen Words has made public the faculty lineup for the 2018 Summer Words writing conference and literary festival.

A narrative nonfiction workshop taught by “Hidden Figures” author Margot Lee Shetterly, and juried fiction workshops taught by authors Peter Ho Davies, Tom Perrotta and J. Courtney Sullivan are only a few highlights from the upcoming Summer Words Writers Conference.

Bruce Handy, contributing editor to Vanity Fair, will moderate a reader’s retreat about great writing from the publication. Brooklyn’s first female poet laureate will lead a session on poetry. There will also be workshops on memoirs and book editing, as well as one designated for beginners.

Summer Words starts June 17. This spring, the nonprofit’s first Literary Prize winner will be determined. Wednesday, the authors featured in a 20-book longlist will be celebrated at Explore Booksellers.
