Ryan Gander is a British artist whose exhibition at the Aspen Art Museum opens today. His show is about freezing moments in time and representing them in art. One of his pieces explores the growth of his children physically and mentally. Hear this excerpt from his conversation with Aspen Public Radio arts and culture reporter Patrick Fort. Tune in to "Curated" on Monday, November 30.

On not having a consistent 'fingerprint' in his pieces...

"You're right, but I think artists that have a theme aren't necessarily very good artists. If you can do anything in the world, why would you do the same thing again and again every day."

On turning his children's forts into art...

"I thought they were beautiful things and the more that my kids built these forts, I realized that they were physically getting larger. I realized that they were architecturally getting more elaborate, and intellectually more intricate."

The show runs until February.
