CDOT allows two-way traffic in Glenwood Canyon

The Colorado Department of Transportation says it will open two-way traffic through Glenwood Canyon around 4pm today.

There will be one traffic lane on Interstate 70 in each direction, with pace cars escorting traffic in each lane. Once this new arrangement begins, Glenwood Canyon will be open 24-7, but CDOT anticipates occasional closures as repair work continues.

The agency said in a conference call on Thursday that it could be a month before returning to the normal four lanes of traffic on I-70.
