Club 20 Members Bullish On Transportation

Club 20

Club 20 advocates on behalf of the Western Slope at the state capitol. They held the first half of their summer meeting in Lake City last week. Members have high hopes for several state ballot initiatives facing voters this fall.

Garfield County Commissioner Tom Jankovsky said he and others at the meeting were particularly interested in ballot initiative 153, which would increase sales tax by 0.62 percent for transportation.

With this money, Jankovsky said, Garfield County could start to fix parts of I-70 and Highway 82 they can’t currently get to. The initiative would also raise money for RFTA.

The second half of the Club 20 meeting will take place in the last week of July in Granby.
