Community lifts its cups to Carbondale Clay auction

The Carbondale Clay Center is holding an auction to raise funds for the organization.

Artists are donating cups, tumblers and other vessels for the Carbondale Clay Center’s cup auction.

About 200 pieces are being collected to be sold to the highest bidder to help the nonprofit pay for operating expenses. Last year, the fundraiser made $12,000, the highest amount the event has ever raised.

Angela Bruno, interim executive director, says pieces come in from across the country. She enjoys seeing the community coming together to support the group.

“These are all donated which is so generous. Everybody working together for the cause, the love of art.

The auction starts at 5 at 201A Main Street in Carbondale.
