Details emerge around proposed downtown Basalt hotel development

ourtownplanning.org

A plan to develop a boutique hotel and condominiums in downtown Basalt is moving forward. The developer, Lowe Enterprises, plans to take public input on the plan next month.

Lowe Enterprises first announced the development in November. Now, some details are emerging. A conceptual plan includes a 60-room hotel and 52 condominiums. Some of those condos could be rented.

James DeFrancia is President of Lowe Enterprises. His group worked up a development plan that’s in concert with recommendations from the Downtown Area Advisory Committee, a citizen group charged with brainstorming downtown redevelopment ideas.

"We think the combination of residences and the hotel property accomplishes as what the Town seems to see as its desired strategic goal of bringing life, vitality and people to downtown Basalt."

Lowe will hold an informational meeting for the Town of Basalt on March 10th. A public meeting, yet to be scheduled, will follow the Town meeting. Lowe will be taking public input.
