Eagle County includes citizens in housing dilemma

Eagle County

Eagle County is creating a new citizen advisory committee on housing.

Representatives from across the county will put their heads together on potential projects and partnerships for the Housing Authority.

Residents with expertise in housing, like real estate, lending, and so forth, are encouraged to become members.

“The idea is that the committee becomes the eyes and ears, on the ground, out in the community,” said Jill Klosterman, the county’s housing director. Because she has a small staff, additional brains working on the affordable housing problem could prove helpful.

The committee will have nine positions, all volunteer. Towns councils will nominate their representatives. People from unincorporated parts of the county should send Klosterman a resume and a letter of interest.

She expects the first meeting will take place in mid to late April.
