Glenwood Springs to decide on confluence plan

On Thursday night, Glenwood Springs City Council will decide on a plan to redevelop the confluence area downtown.

The land immediately southeast of the confluence of the Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers has been the object of the city’s attention. The plan the city might adopt would create a walkable, affordable neighborhood.

It’ll also redevelop the park that’s already there, and improve the riverfront to become home both to commercial development and public space.

Glenwood Springs worked with the nonprofit Community Builders and other parties to develop this plan. If the city adopts it, the various stakeholders will start working to make it happen.
