Investing network hopes to get more eyes on broadband issue

  An Aspen-based business group now hopes to rally more private sector interest in improving internet speed in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Aspen Public Radio’s Elise Thatcher talks with Jess Ewart, with the Roaring Fork Valley Broadband Initiative. The group is holding a discussion about internet access this Friday morning at the Mountain Chalet in Aspen.

Pitkin and Garfield counties are part of a growing effort to get faster internet in rural areas. Voters in Pitkin County have approved letting the local government figure out a way to do that, but paying for new fiber infrastructure could be daunting.
