Japanese artist’s work graces 2015 lift tickets

The work of Takashi Murakami has been chosen to be printed on Aspen Snowmass lift tickets this fall.

The Japanese artist is known for his bright pop-art stylings and anime and manga style.

His characters, KaiKai and Kiki, are just two personalities that are featured in the four brightly colored portraits that will be seen on the slopes this year.

Pom, a brown  and white terrier, sits proudly under a blue sky. Dozens of smiling daisies stare back at you, reminiscent of an intense psychedelic experience. KaiKai and KiKi make their own appearance in the bed of those same flowers.

A partnership between the Aspen Art Museum and the Aspen Skiing Company has been in existence for a decade that puts art on lift tickets, as well as in resort facilities.
