A memorial service has been set for valley native Collin Gibbard. He was born in Aspen, attended Basalt High School and studied at the University of Northern Colorado. He worked in the valley as a carpenter. This year he became the framing supervisor for Peak Interiors.

His brother, Evan Gibbard, describes Collin Gibbard as an open-hearted, loyal friend, who adored his hometown.

“He had a lot of love in his heart, and one big big part of his heart was saved for this valley and especially for Aspen. He just loved that town so much,” Evan Gibbard said.

The family is in town through the weekend and invites friends to a memorial service this Saturday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m., with a reception to follow, at the Orchard in Carbondale.

Colin Gibbard, who was 41 years old, was found dead in Aspen last week.
