RFTA tests waters on maintaining Hogback service

RFTA

A bus route between Parachute and Glenwood Springs is more popular than ever. The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) dramatically increased its Hogback route for the Grand Avenue Bridge closure.

When the bridge reopens in November, RFTA wants to keep this level of service.

On Monday, RFTA CEO Dan Blankenship asked Garfield County’s commissioners to help fund this. Their response was lukewarm, at best.

The commissioners did, however, agree to keep funding the current Hogback service into December.
