The right beverage for the right cup: Pairings returns to Carbondale Clay Center

Carbondale Clay Center’s annual event, Pairings, returns to its home base Friday night. The event celebrates the art of finding the right beverage for the right cup.

Pairings will showcase ceramic coffee mugs, tea bowls, sake sets and more, created by at least 30 local and national artists.

Angela Bruno is the new executive director at the Carbondale Clay Center. Building a sense of community, between creatives and consumers is central to the event. She said it’s important because one cannot exist without the other.

“It’s awesome when there’s artists whose work is in the show and they’re here so people, when they’re purchasing a cup, they can talk to the artists and ask them about it,” she said. “When you know the artist, there’s just a little bit more connection to that piece.”

Pairings will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are available with the purchase of a ceramic or sold separately for $5 each. There will be live music from a local high school student.
