The scam that wasn't a scam

Aspen Public Radio

On Feb. 9, an online threat closed down-valley schools and sent Aspen High School into a lockout. Later that day, the FBI said it was a scam, and so the story went, until two weeks ago.

The Aspen Times reported the threat had actually been made by a student at Aspen High School, the only high school in the valley that did not close.

Aspen Public Radio's Christin Kay sat down with reporter Wyatt Orme to discuss how the FBI and local law enforcement interpreted the threat and why everyone was focusing down valley.
