SMV maps out its future

This weekend the Town of Snowmass Village is presenting a draft of its Comprehensive Plan. The draft is now open for community review.

The document is meant to be a map for the future of the town, based on shared values and priorities that came out of a year of community conversations. It tackles long range solutions to things like affordable housing and climate change.

While past iterations of the plan have grappled with the identity of the town, a resort destination or a local community, the goal of this plan is for Snowmass Village to be recognized as a community that encompasses a world-class resort.

Other priorities include making the town more walkable, keeping development to a minimum, creating senior housing and addressing water storage.

In addition to this weekend's presentation, two open houses will be held for public feedback on Monday and Tuesday.
