Swearing-in Thursday for new Glenwood Council Members

Glenwood Springs will hold a swearing-in on Thursday, for new City Council members. One of them is Kathryn Trauger, who won the At Large seat in the recent election. She says she feels ready to join Council.

“No trepidation at all,” Trauger affirmed Tuesday. “I’m just anxious and ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.” She plans to focus first on building relationships with council members, staff, and others.

“There seems to be a bit of a disconnect between city hall and citizens and business people,” says Trauger. “I think we need to work to heal that rift.”

New Ward 1 representative Steve Davis will also be sworn in. Glenwood residents also re-elected two other council members who ran unopposed. At this Thursday’s meeting, Council will consider development for retail marijuana growing and selling. That entails greenhouses and other development. It’s proposed for Devereux Road, near the West Glenwood Exit.
