Two Carbondale men take steps in campaigns against congressional incumbents

Eagle County Times

Two Carbondale residents are moving forward with their campaigns against two members of Colorado’s congressional delegation.

The first candidate is ArnMenconi, a former Eagle County Commissioner and founder of a nonprofit to help at risk youth. Menconi hopes to run as a Green Party candidate against Democratic incumbent Senator Michael Bennet. “My strategy is to use social media,” he said Monday. “I feel as though I own social media in the state of Colorado, because Michael Bennet does not have a narrative.” Menconi says Bennet is accepting too many corporate donations, among other concerns.

Fellow Carbondale resident Alex Beinstein aims to challenge US Congressman Scott Tipton. Both are Republicans. Beinstein is now meeting GOP county leadership and voters across the expansive 3rd congressional district.
