Valley Roundup - May 29th, 2015

Welcome to Valley Roundup, a review of the top news stories in the valley in the past week.

The question of whether the city of Aspen’s community development department wields too much power when it comes to handling building proposals and the land use code is being debated.

Thousands of people became nearly paralyzed when they lost cellular and internet service for more than 16 hours earlier this week.

Meanwhile, the city of Glenwood Springs may be looking for a new city manager soon.

And, what will happen at the corner of Monarch and Main streets? Will an affordable lodge be built or not? It’s up to city council on June 1.

Joining me this week are Michael Miracle, editor of Aspen Sojourner Magazine, Randy Essex, editor of the Glenwood Post Independent and Andy Stone, former editor and columnist at the Aspen Times.
