Week in the Arts: Dec. 4, 2017

Welcome to a new winter week in the Roaring Fork Valley!

Tuesday in Snowmass Village, furniture maker and sculptor Andy Buck will give a visiting critic lecture beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center.

Wednesday at the Wheeler Opera House, the bluegrass group The Del McCoury Band will perform at 7:30 p.m.

 

Anderson Ranch Arts Center’s Artists-in-Residence will showcase their work Thursday at The Art Base in Basalt at 5:30 p.m. and Friday at the Launchpad in Carbondale at 6 p.m.

 

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sopris Theatre Company presents ‘Uncommon Women and Others’ at Colorado Mountain College’s New Space Theatre. That show starts at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee Sunday at 2 p.m.

 

Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Carbondale, Thunder River Theatre Company presents productions of the play “Constellations” at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday in Basalt, there will be a Local Comedy Showcase at The Temporary starting at 8 p.m.

Thursday in Aspen, the Red Brick Center for the Arts’ opening reception for the exhibition iShow starts at 5 p.m.

Friday evening at the 1st United Methodist Church in Glenwood Springs, the Mountain Madrigal Singers present “Welcome the Holiday” at 7:30 p.m.

And this weekend, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet presents its annual production of “The Nutcracker” with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2 p,m., followed by an evening performance Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m.
