Week in the Arts - July 4th

  It’s Independence day...If you’re not watching the great action movie of the same name, or seeing the sequel. Check out fourth of July events up and down the valley.

 

Aspen Film is screening the film “Weiner” on Wednesday. It follows the scandal of politician “Anthony Weiner”.

 

Dave Jordan plays on Thursday’s Snowmass free concert.

 

The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s summer performance opens on Friday.

 

“Crazy Mix and the Love Child” opens at The Art Base in Basalt. The mixed-media art is made by Andrew Roberts-Gray

 

The Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts’ Hip Hop Exhibition opens on Friday.

 

Theatre Aspen’s “Buyer and Cellar” opens on Saturday. It’s directed by Aspen Word’s Moe LeMee.

 

Come to the 2016 Garden Tour in Glenwood Springs. The event is a self-guided tour of eight gardens chosen for their visual appeal and creativity.

Patrick Fort grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, nurturing a love for ice hockey and deli sandwiches. After moving to Colorado in 2010 to attend the University of Colorado to study music, Patrick discovered his love for journalism. In 2013, Patrick created and hosted the award-winning radio program Colorado Stories, a news program that covered CU and the surrounding community. An avid mountain and road cyclist, Patrick also referees youth ice hockey. He loves '60s pop bands and and trying new recipes ranging from milk-braised carnitas to flourless cakes.
