Week in the Arts: Nov. 27, 2017

Welcome to a Week in the Arts, from Aspen Public Radio. Here's what's on tap:

Tuesday in Snowmass Village, Anderson Ranch Arts Center will screen the award-winning ski documentary film Steep at 7:30 p.m. in the Schermer Meeting Hall.

 

Wednesday, the Aspen Chapel Gallery will celebrate it’s 200th exhibition “Small Wonders” with an artists reception starting at 5 p.m.

 

Thursday in Basalt, The Temporary presents Immigrant Voices: A Project by English In Action and Writ Large, featuring seven immigrant community members telling stories at 6:30 p.m.

 

Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m., Aspen High School presents Humbug High, a contemporary portrayal of A Christmas Story with a matinee Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Black Box Theater.

 

And, Santa will be at The Launchpad in Carbondale for First Friday from 3 to 7 p.m.

 

Friday and Saturday, Sopris Theatre Company presents Uncommon Women and Others’ at Colorado Mountain College’s New Space Theatre. That show starts at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee Sunday at 2 p.m.

Saturday at The Wheeler Opera House, Aspen Film presents a screening of the new HBO documentary film Arthur Miller: Writer’ at 5:30 p.m.

And, The Revivalists return to the valley for two nights of performances, Saturday and Sunday, with opener Muddy Magnolias, starting at 9 p.m. at Belly Up Aspen.
