Basalt Meets Again On New Pan And Fork Proposal

On Tuesday night, Basalt’s town council will pick up their discussion of the Pan and Fork property. Willits developer Tim Belinski has put forward a new proposal for the controversial piece of property downtown.

His proposal includes 22 free-market residences and six affordable housing units. It would also make space available for both the Art Base, a community arts center, and the Basalt Chamber of Commerce, which currently operates out of a train caboose across the street. There would also be space for a small cafe.

Belinski is also offering to sell one acre of vacant land at the intersection of Two Rivers Road and Midland Avenue to the town for the expansion of their park.

Tuesday's hearing on the Pan and Fork property is a continuation of an August meeting, where public comment lasted well into the night.
