CCAH looks for more people to get creative in Carbondale

Carbondale’s effort to become one of Colorado’s “Creative Districts” continues and community members are looking for more people to help.

 

The Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities is holding a meeting to gain more supporters in the town’s effort to become a Colorado Creative District. The designation would put the town on an exclusive list of places eligible for specials grants and funding from the state to support the arts.

 

Carbondale is in the second year of its three-year plan, and hopes to roll out a website as well as signage that would help designate art-centric businesses and assign them to one of six categories.

 

Amy Kimberly of CCAH says the 30 people involved so far have invested a lot of time so far, but the group as looking for more members as they near the third year of the process. For her, it’s been a fun experience.

The meeting starts at 5:30 on Thursday at the Carbondale Library.
