The search for members of a governance council that will lead Carbondale’s Creative District is continuing this week.

Board members of Carbondale Arts, the nonprofit that led the charge to become a Creative District, started interviewing candidates last week for a council of seven to nine people.

The plan is to have wide representation of the town on the planned council, with members of the tourism, arts and education sectors all participating.

Interviews will continue through the end of the month. The first council will operate during a one-year term. During that period, it will develop a strategic plan for the Creative District, as well as a budget, and designate future term limits and create a selection process for new council members.
