Arlene Guillen is a host of Jazz from Aspen.
Arlene is pleased to share hosting duties with Stu Huck on alternating Thursday evenings. She is a long-time supporter of public radio, so having the opportunity to have a hands-on impact makes her happy.
Arlene’s love for jazz is rooted in The Great American Songbook, and while many of those songs were written for musical theater, listening to them interpreted by a jazz artist is her favorite way to hear them. So when you tune in to her show, expect a heavy dose of the Gershwins, Cole Porter and others.
A twenty-year resident of Los Angeles, Arlene owned an entertainment company, which specialized in booking jazz groups for private events and television show warm ups, most notably, The Seinfeld Show.
Arlene and her husband moved to Colorado to raise their son near family and the beautiful outdoors. When away from her hosting duties, much of her time is spent with her son, horses and her creative pursuits such as singing and writing.
