Aspen increased its tax revenue by 3.8 percent last year.
Historically, December is a key month for Aspen, but a report released this week showed it was slower than last year. Retail sales held steady, but despite good early season snow, taxes gathered on accomodations were down 4.1 percent during the holiday season.
The overall annual gains continue a six-year trend in revenue growth. Aspen collected almost $16 million dollars in sales tax last year.
