ACES Speaker Series Spotlights Valley Travelers

Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) launches the 2019 Potbelly Perspectives speaker series Wednesday.

Potbelly Perspectives features the travel stories of Valley Residents who’ve given back to the communities they’ve visited.

The first speaker is Carbondale resident Neal Beidleman, who’s climbed Cho Oyu and Mt. Everest. He’ll talk about summiting the world’s highest peak from both the Tibetan and Nepalese sides.

ACES has been hosting the event for 41 years. It’s named after the tradition of gathering around a potbelly stove to share stories.

Beidleman speaks Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Paepcke Auditorium.
