Anderson Ranch Artists-In-Residence Discuss Work In Carbondale

lilyerb.com

The current artists-in-residence at Anderson Ranch present their work at the Launchpad in Carbondale Tuesday evening.

There are 14 artists from all over the country in the current residency. They work in mediums ranging from photography to furniture-making. The cohort spends nearly two-and-a-half months at Anderson Ranch.

On Tuesday night, eight of those artists will discuss their work in five-minute segments, using just eight slides apiece.

Lily Erb is a metal sculptor from Charlottesville, VA.  She says the format has its challenges and benefits.

"It's fitting this thing that’s so nebulous into a box so that you can get the basic information about your work out there," Erb said.

She says the artists are looking forward to getting to know locals and hearing about the Roaring Fork Valley art scene at the event, which starts at 6 p.m.
