The 12th annual Aspen Ideas Festival kicks off Thursday. Although passes have been sold out for months, there are still plenty of opportunities to attend the dozens of public events taking place over the next week.

A few years ago, the Aspen Institute opened its festival to the public. This year, there will be more than 80 seminars, films and performances..

Events range from discussions about health like “How Safe Is Your Hospital?” to seminars with Alonzo King’s Ballet titled “Nourishing Heart and Body through Art,” as well as movie premiers. The public events run through June 30.

Tickets are available through Aspen Show Tickets at the Wheeler Opera House, or online at aspenshowtix.com. Tickets are around $20.
