Two local governments are joining other Colorado cities and counties to collectively lobby for climate change legislation.
The city of Aspen and Pitkin County are part of the newly minted Colorado Communities for Climate Action. The group of local governments is designed to push for state and federal laws that address climate change issues. Other members include Eagle County, Vail, Boulder and Fort Collins.
Representatives of the city and Pitkin County said this week that climate change issues are top priorities for both, and that joining the collaboration is a new opportunity to lobby lawmakers to pass energy-related legislation.
