Occupancy was up in Aspen last month, thanks to special events.
January’s paid occupancy was up 2.5 percent from 2018, according to Stay Aspen Snowmass.
The uptick in visitors is due to strong attendance at Gay Ski Week and the X Games. The X Games alone saw a 3 percent increase in visitors.
February occupancy is also up four percent -this is despite Latin American visitors who traditionally visit in February, to book trips for March, when there will be a more favorable exchange rate.
The announcement of The Apres music festival caused a 7.3 percent uptick in reservations for April.
