Elected leaders are considering increasing the secured area at the Aspen airport to handle large amounts of people trying to get through TSA.
The changes that are being considered would increase the secured area where travelers wait for their planes. It would alleviate the pressure during busy times, when hundreds of travelers are crammed into a small gated area. The secured area would expand to include an existing restaurant, bar and gift shop.
Pitkin County commissioners will get a detailed plan with costs before ski season begins.
