Basalt may be a 'safe harbor' for immigrants, but it's no church

Basalt’s town council voted Tuesday to adopt a resolution, declaring the town a “safe harbor” for immigrants.

This comes on the heels of executive orders issued by President Trump, calling for a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border and a crackdown on “sanctuary cities,” which are places that try to shield undocumented people from deportation. News director Carolyn Sackariason sat down with reporter Wyatt Orme, who's been following the issue. Basalt can't exactly shield undocumented people from deportation; at least, not in the way, say, a church can.
