Thursday in Basalt, a local teacher will share photos and discuss her recent trip to the Arctic on a research expedition.
Basalt High School’s Leticia Guzman Ingram was selected by National Geographic to spend eleven days in the Arctic, studying the ecosystem alongside researchers.
She says she was struck by the complexity of the tundra, which she calls “magical.”
At the Basalt Library, Guzman Ingram will show her photography of the expedition and discuss the important role images and stories have in documenting climate change.
She says she hopes that sharing her photography will help create awareness for both her students and the community.
“Documenting The Arctic” starts at 5:30 p.m.
