Those who want to run for Basalt and Carbondale’s Town Councils should have their signed petitions in to the town clerks by Monday at 5 p.m.

As of Friday, there were seven candidates ready to compete for Basalt’s three open council seats. They are Chris Mullin, Carol Hawk, Todd Hartley, William Infante, Ryan Slack, Rick Stevens, and incumbent Bernie Grauer.

In Carbondale, the mayor’s seat is up for election, as are four other trustee seats. Current Mayor Dan Richardson will run again. Seven others will compete for the remaining seats. They include three incumbents: Luis Yllanes, Erica Sparhawk and Heather Henry. The others are April Spaulding, Lani Kitching, Ian Hause and James Gilliam.

The election is on April 3.
