Carbondale Chief Of Police Finalists Announced

City of Champaign Police Department

The Town of Carbondale released the names of the four finalists for the chief of police position Tuesday. 

The four candidates are Lee Damuth, Sean Dugan, David Shaffer and Kirk Wilson. 

Damuth is the chief investigator for the District Attorney's Office 9th Judicial District in Glenwood Springs. Dugan is the police chief for the Red Rocks Community College Police Department. Shaffer is the deputy chief of police for the city of Champaign, IL. Wilson is a sergeant and emergency manager for the City of Rifle.

Gene Schilling, Carbondale's current police chief, is retiring in September.

The public can meet the finalists on Thursday, March 12 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Launchpad in Carbondale.
