'The Colorado Experience' Returns To Valley For Screenings

Monday and Tuesday, “The Colorado Experience” will screen two episodes filmed locally. The Rocky Mountain PBS series explores the lesser-known people and places that have shaped Colorado.

This is the third year that “The Colorado Experience” has toured statewide, bringing episodes back to the communities in which they were filmed.

Producer Eric Hernandez says that the show aims to recognize the significant role of small towns in the state’s development.

"Colorado history is not just Denver history, and so we try to tell different stories from every corner," said Hernandez.

Monday, the episode “Room and Board” will be screened at the Hotel Jerome.  It focuses on the hotel’s time as a boarding house during the mining days. The Aspen Historical Society’s Nina Gabianelli is featured in the episode, and will participate in a Q&A after the screening.

Tuesday, an episode focusing on the history of the Redstone Castle will be shown at the Castle itself. Steve and April Carver, the new owners of the Redstone Castle, will be on hand to answer questions.
