Colorado's Open Enrollment Extended Through End Of Week

Connect For Health Colorado

Because of the coronavirus outbreak, Colorado is one of eleven states that have made the move to re-open health insurance enrollment under the Affordable Care Act. Coloradans who are currently uninsured or think they might lose their job can enroll in health insurance through Friday, April 3.

Local insurance broker Michael Sailor said anyone considering signing up should not wait until Friday.

“Don't waste time till the last day when potentially you'll never be able to get anybody online on the phone or get any assistance whatsoever," he said. "Do it today while the lines are still open."

TheColorado Division of Insurance declared the emergency enrollment period.

“This has never happened before, and I want to thank Governor Polis and the people at the Division of Insurance and Connect for Health Colorado for having the foresight and wisdom to open this program up and help Coloradans get much needed insurance," Sailor said, "so they don't go broke if they wind up in the hospital.”

Coloradans can apply on Connect For Health Colorarado's website by Friday, April 3. Those who qualify for Medicaid Program can apply on the Colorado Peak website.
