The Turret Fire is burning 22 miles northeast of Glenwood Springs. As of Monday afternoon, crews had about a third of it contained.

The fire is on nearly seven acres in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area in the White River National Forest. It was first reported on Thursday of last week and it’s unclear how it started.

A crew of around 29 people is working to contain the fire and one helicopter is assisting. The crew is reporting the fire hasn’t grown; however, the area is closed between Shingle Peak trail and Turret Peak trail.
