Eagle BOCC will begin reviewing The Tree Farm application

Eagle County

The Tree Farm is a controversial development proposal in the mid-valley. The Eagle County Board of Commissioners will begin their review of the preliminary plan on Tuesday.

The meeting was originally meant to happen a month ago, but was tabled at the developer’s request.

The Tree Farm development would include up to 340 residential units. Some of those would be affordable housing. There’s also commercial and office space set aside, as well as 22 acres of open space.

The Eagle County Board of Commissioners have gone into executive session twice in the past week to seek council from their attorney.

Before the meeting today, the commissioners will visit the site right across the highway from Whole Foods. The meeting starts 5 p.m. at the El Jebel Community Center and is open to the public. Once the staff and the applicant present, the floor will open for public comment.
