Five Pitkin County groups receive CCI art grants

Colorado Creative Industries announced the recipients of its 2015-2016 grants. Six organizations in the Roaring Fork Valley were part of this years awards.

 

The Carbondale Clay Center was the only recipient in Garfield County that received part of the $1.2 million handed out. The organization received $6,500 dollars. It’s planned to be used to cover operating costs.

 

The Aspen Music Festival and school received $10,000, while Aspen Film received $8,500.

A total of 168 grants in 33 counties were given out as part of slate supported by the governor’s office. 162 grants were handed out last year.

Almost half of the recipients were located outside of metro Denver.

Multiple groups across the state received similar amounts, though no one received more than $10,000. The grants are awarded on a competitive basis, and must be used for projects between October and next September.
