Garfield County has a plan to improve their broadband, and the first priority is to reach the remotest parts of the county, where Internet is slowest.
Broadband speeds in places like Battlement Mesa are dismally slow, and other areas simply don’t have Internet.
The county, with help from its Glenwood Springs-based consultant, NEO Connect, is requesting proposals for new equipment and for a provider to operate the new wireless system.
The rest of the county’s plan for improving broadband involves connecting communities not wirelessly, but with the physical, fiber optic cable.
