Governor Jared Polis’ appearance at an oil and gas convention turned tense this week when the governor defended his decision to give local governments more power to regulate the energy industry.
Polis told the crowd of hundreds of energy workers and executives at the Wednesday meeting they shouldn’t worry about the impacts of Senate Bill 181. But that led to a debate with Colorado Oil and Gas Association CEO Dan Haley, who thinks the new law is doing damage.
