Mountain Family Health juggles property search, capital campaign

Mountain Family Health Centers

One of the biggest health care providers for low income folks is having a busy spring. Mountain Family Health Centers has kicked off capital campaigns while also deciding between new locations for Basalt.

Mountain Family aims to raise about $4 million in the coming months, to pay for building a facility in Basalt. Chief Executive Officer Ross Brooks is hesitant to name specific possible locations, but the construction schedule is more concrete.

“Ideally we’d get it done in the next 18 months here,” he said in a recent interview. “So by 2018 we’d have a new or improved space.”

Brooks said the goal is to more than double the number of health care providers, add a dentist and significantly increase the number of patients Mountain Family can treat in Basalt.
